| Leaving Nairobi | Arriving in Wamba |
March 10. Our team of ten volunteers met in the lobby of a Nairobi Hotel and traveled on to the airport where we all got on a small plane for the short flight to Wamba. We landed about an hour later. There is no airport in Wamba, just a dirt runway where we were met by some curious children, a goat, and some Earthwatch volunteers waiting to take the flight back to Nairobi. Five people from our team stayed on the plane to continue on to Lewa; the rest of us will spend this next week here in Wamba. On Friday, we will meet again on the airstrip to trade places.

- Hi! My name is Shayne Russell, and I'm the Library Media Specialist at Kenneth R. Olson Middle School in Tabernacle, NJ. Come along with me on an adventure to Kenya, Africa! We will be working as volunteer researchers, side-by-side with scientists who are studying the endangered Grevy's Zebra. Let's see what research looks like... outside of the library!
