This is a pile of paper in Miss Larsen's classroom. The kids collected it because they saw that the students at Nagor-Oworu Primary School in Wamba needed it. Bless their hearts! We'll figure out a way to get it there, too!


When we visited the school, we delivered some books and a whole lot of school supplies for the students.


In Lewa, we met with Mr. Arnold Rapango, who told us about the Lewa Education Trust and how it helps schools in the area around the Lewa Conservancy. We learned that, at Lewa, the philosophy is that if you want to save wildlife, you have to take care of the people first. Through the Education Trust, the Conservancy is working to improve education and education facilities and to encourage the conservation of wildlife. The Trust currently supports 8 primary schools. That support takes the form of:

• Building classrooms and houses for teachers
  
• Buyng textbooks, desks and writing materials
  
• Providing lunch for students
  
• Providing well equipped playgrounds
  
• and much more...

Any of us can help by making a donation to the Trust, and you can decide how you would like your donation to be used. As a school librarian, I'm partial to the option of donating $20 to purchase a set of 10 library books. In Wamba, we noticed there were not enough desks for all of the students, and some had to sit on the floor. You might decide to donate $30, which would pay for one desk that would seat three students. You could provide lunch for one student for a whole year for only $16. Or maybe you would like to provide electricity for a school in the form of a solar-powered generator for a cost of $1335. There are lots of ways to help.
